DETOX GINGER LEMON SYRUP

A quite spicy and fresh syrup to make an amazing cup of tea.

INGREDIENTS

4 organic lemons

200 g fresh ginger

200 g brown sugar

500 ml water

GOOD TO HAVE: small pot, fine-mesh strainer, glass bottle or jar

HOW TO

1. Cut the ginger into thin slices and then into small chunks. Squeeze and peel lemons and place them together with ginger chunks, water and brown sugar in a small pot. Heat up until the mixture starts to boil, then reduce heat to a steady simmer and cook for about 45 mins.

2. Let cool and strain the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer. Fill into a glass bottle or jar and let it cool down completely. Then store in the refrigerator, covered, until ready to use. Syrup lasts for at least two weeks. Mix about one teaspoon with 250 ml water and enjoy with hot or cold water !
