Great places for food and coffee in NOLA

New Orleans is not just known for Mardi Gras - it is also pretty famous because of it's fantastic cuisine. Especially the Lower Garden District and Magazine Street have plenty of amazing food to offer.

Lilly's Café

Ready for the best pho in your life. This is the place. This is it.

Lilly's is a vietnamese restaurant with a beauty salon right next to it - both is owned by Lilly. So if you need to get your nails done and are hungry afterwards that's the perfect location.

Every single thing on their menu is just delicious. I've tried various and it was always the same experience - I couldn't stop eating.

Too good. I highly recommend the spring rolls and the vegetarian pho. They also do a lot of vegan options.

Seed

Organic. Local. There is not much more to say.

Their menu is full of great juices and smoothies like an antioxidant boost, the seed super, chia chai or the triple chocolate avocado shake (oh my goodness this just made me want one while writing down). Seed offers plenty of salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts. It's good to go there at any time of the day - brunch, lunch, dinner - they'll have something for you.

HiVolt Coffee

Oh my goodness I don't even know how many different words for delicious and amazing I have for this place. The best thing is - they offer vegan sweets and superfood smoothies.

To be honest, that was most important when I walked in there. The cacao espresso smoothie is so addictive that you almost go crazy. Other good options are the spirulina and the green smoothie.

They also offer breakfast, sandwiches, toasts, salads and of course great coffee and tea.

They have two locations - one in the Lower Garden District and one in Uptown.

District Donuts Sliders Brew

Donuts, Donuts and again Donuts wherever you look.

Unfortunately they are not vegan - but I do hope for some vegan options in the future. They make everything out of scratch - so no pre-made mixes or artifical flavours.

District has some classics like glazed, cinnamon sugar and chocolate glazed and the rest is always changing (over a 100 different options). If they have the coconut one - go for it - it's amazing.

Coffee is a another thing they do very well. So just stop by and see yourself. And if you see my friend Anna say hi ;)

My favorite shop is located on beautiful Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District.
