Food & Coffee in London

I've been to London a few times - but this time I had the amazing opportunity to enjoy some of the most amazing vegan and vegetarian food places and coffee shops.

So here they are.

East London - Bethnal Green. Hackney. Shoreditch.

The Gallery Café

This café is truly a great spot in East London. It's eco friendly, so their packaging is a 100% recyclable and the use local suppliers.

The Gallery Café offers a great variety of freshly made vegan and vegetarian food - and if something is vegetarian they make you a vegan version. Try the vegan burger - it's really really good.

They have live music events and art exhibitions going on every month. Most of them are free.

During summer you can sit out on their beautiful terrace and enjoy your coffee in the sun.

Hurwundeki

Looking for a hairdresser and a coffee shop all in one?

Here it is - while you're waiting for your appointment just have a coffee first. (They do soy milk as well. ;))

When it's hot during summer it's perfect to sit outside in their garden.

Hurwundeki offers in their front great coffee, healthy juices, snacks, desserts and drinks.

In the back they serve korean food with lots of rice, noodles and of course bento.

Mr & Mrs Softee Ice Cream Van Victoria Park

The best ice cream I had in London.

With that beautiful canal right next to the van your ice cream never tasted any better.

The owners are super nice and friendly - they just love what they do.

Try the traditional chocolate & vanilla. Crushed cookies on top and you're in heaven.

Broadway Market

Near my favorite canal - Regent's Canal - there is a shopping street in Hackney filled with great food, art and fashion stalls, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

Their street food is so fascinating and diverse - give it a go. I had a falafel box with a great lemon salad - mhmm.

It's opened every Saturday from 9 am- 5 pm.

Borough Market

One of London's oldest food markets and also the most popular. A huge amount of different take-aways. That's the place for food-lovers. Bread ahead was one of my favorite stalls. They have great italian foccacia. Oh wow so good. Try the tomato & pesto one. Go early in the morning or during the week when it's not that packed it can get pretty crowded and then it's not that much fun.

Monmouth Coffee Company

Around the corner of the Borough Market youll find Monmouth. They are pretty well known in London for their amazing cup of coffee. So I went there to try it out myself. And when I got there - a looong long line, I heard it should be even worse on weekends. Didn't expect it to be that popular. But I have to admit - people are right - damn good coffee. Extremley strong but very tasty.

And you can tell their staff really knows what they are doing - they simple love coffee.

The only thing they don't do is soy milk. So plain coffee or no coffee ;).

Rawligion

Raw, rawer, rawligion. A plant-based café in the middle of London which is completely raw. Rawligion offers organic, freshly made food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's best to take it to go, they have a few tables but it's more just to have a quick meal. The have fancy dishes in their menu like acai bowls, kelp noodles, hemp tabbouleh, fruit rollups, lime pie and many more.

The menu is changing with the seasons and will for sure surprise you in many ways.

Say hi to my friend Eli the Head Chef when you're there!

Wild Food Cafe

This beautiful café is located at Neal's Yard which is an amazing small alley in Covent Garden.

They're not just a restaurant, they're also a shop and a cooking school. All of their food is plant-based, organic and freshly made. They also do a lot of raw stuff too. One of the best things about this café is that your food is served at big communal tables, which makes you feel part of the community. Love this place! I can highly recommend all of their soups and smoothies.

Pret a Manger

Same as in New York City a Pret a Manger is never far. A great take-away place. They are super quick at the counter. I love their sandwiches and brownies. A must when you're in London. Try it out you won't regret it.

Richmond

Bhuti

Bhuti is a wellbeing centre in Richmond. It has a vegan & gluten-free tea room where the menu is mostly raw and organic. I can highly recommend the baked granola, kale crisps as well as the popular bhuti energy balls.

Besides food their main offer is all about yoga, wellness treatments like massages, shiatsu, aromatherapy, waxing and many more. All of their products are pure, natural and organic.
